A productive day, as well as a long one. The day for me started at 6am, getting up, letting the hens out, and then running over for physical therapy. Then back to the house, watered the hogs, and picked up 13 dozen eggs, then drove to the city to deliver them and see my orthopedic surgeon for a follow up.
While at the office, I talked business, I mean, seriously who wouldn't. Then talked about the pain associated with my shoulder, and bicep, which is normal, and should begin to lessen within the next few weeks.
While driving home, I received a business email, which had a few questions about the pricing of a whole hog, and the processing costs. Then a few minutes later, we got yet another hog sold.
Life has its ups and downs, and it's reasons for everything. Had I not been injured, I would have never had the time to attempt to sell hogs, or eggs, or to even start a farm of this capacity, due to always working. Then I would never have met the person who bought today, if I had never been injured, and most likely will many more sales to follow from their coworkers, and other staff.
Never ask why is this happening to me, ask, how can this benefit in the long run. Usually, it works itself out.
I know people read this nationwide, and I also have a few that read from across the pond, in Ireland, and Paris, France. However, for those of you that read and are in the Springfield area, and might be in need of automotive work, please contact a friend of mine, Richard Gilchrist, owner of Gilchrist Automotive, he might even be able to come to you. They had been having a tough time, and I saw a post today from him that made my heart happy. His business was very busy today, and I will help him promote his, anyway I can. For when those you know are doing well, show that you are proud. When they are having a rough patch, lift them up the same way.
We walked the garden today, and found so many blooms, and peas in pods, but we also found our first pumpkin.
The remaining days of the week are very busy here, with someone turning 7, and Fathers Day, however, I will do my best to write a few more, before the weekend ends.
As always, thank you for reading and supporting our family farm.
