Productive day

Another Sunday has come to pass. Today we bathed our feeder chickens, prepping them for harvest come Tuesday morning. That was an adventure all by itself, then we built an outdoor pen for them to sunbath and dry, allowing them a little more freedom upon their pending death.

These will be available for sale on Thursday for $16.50 each, we will have ten for sale and will be keeping six.

After finishing the bathing and the building we had to come in and cool down, these 90+ degree days this early in the year really slows us down.

I worked on the internet for a while, and promoted our business online. I spoke to a woman in Tuscon, AZ who is interested in purchasing a whole hog, and another family in Huntsville, Al. With that being said, I am proud to say that we have all of our hogs sold, although pending, I want to be safe and say they are sold. So a very productive day.

My wife made a delicious homemade pizza from scratch, even though she worked all day in the heat, then this evening we watched the Coca-Cola 600, and enjoyed watching our driver, Kyle Busch dominate and win.

Our egg production was up today, almost 4 dozen, which brings our dozen count since Saturday to 8.

Everyone be safe this weekend, be careful on the lakes and especially driving. Enjoy the first weekend of summer break, and enjoy being with family and friends. Take a moment to remember those who have died protecting our freedom, and defending our nation.

As always, thank you for reading my blog, and supporting our family farm.
