Today began as a normal Monday, early feedings, then off to my physical therapy for my shoulder. Then we returned home, and started the day.
Feeding and loving on the hogs, making sure they get the attention they deserve, then over to the chickens, collecting eggs, talking to them and listening to them talk to us.
Then around 5, it became a little less merrier, as we had to say goodbye to our goats Ginnie and Winnie, as we begin to make room for more chickens. Our middle two children didn't quite understand, and our sheep seemed to have lost their leaders, but, in the end, as life on the farm moves forward, animals come and go.
We still have a seven week old lamancha pigmy mix male for sale, if anyone would like a sweet boy as a pet, or a living lawn mower.
To end the evening, we were sitting in the living room and a young bull casually walked up to our back door, then came within a few inches of trampling my wife's garden, we saw the pumpkins and potatoes disappearing within a second, but, we're lucky and he missed them by a few inches.
So now, we relax, and eat dinner, tuck the kids into bed, then await the morning sun to do it once again.
As always, thank you for reading, and supporting our farm.
Also, the chickens were much happier today, now that the sun came out, egg production was almost back to normal today.
