Hello everyone,
This is just a quick insight of what you will expect to see and read from me over the next few days, weeks, months, years.
We want to educate people on how to be more self-sufficient when it comes to food. Especially all the processed foods, that more and more people are consuming, rather than when I was little and families cooked together, or had family dinners every Sunday.
The world has gotten more tech savvy, and in such a hurry, that very few take the time to eat healthy, or take the time to teach their kids how to cook.
Often times, the idea is given that you have to be rich to eat healthier, or to buy fresh foods. That is far from the truth. We grow what we need to get through November-March, and sell the excess, the cost of seeds, is far less than what someone would spend in one week of buying produce.
It takes two weeks to get the ground ready, and then to plant, then maybe 20 minutes a day to water and nurture it , so it grows. Take the time, try it, you might like it.
Anyways, over the next few weeks, I will list recipes of what we cook, how the crops are coming up, how the chickens are producing, as well as any rodent issues we may have, such as opossum, raccoons, bobcats, etc. We will give updates on the hogs and their weights, maybe even something about our kids.
If you have questions, or comments, ideas, or criticism, please send them to me.
Follow us on Facebook, chase us on Twitter (coming soon).
Lets make this about bettering the health of everyone, and about farm life.
Thank you for reading, thank you for supporting our family.
